We offer both shared and exclusive sponsorship options, all supported by a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure benches remain safe, clean and well cared for throughout the sponsorship period.
Memorial benches are available in a range of locations across Torbay, with sponsorship options for 5 or 25 years. Each sponsorship includes a full maintenance package, covering:

Bench styles are selected by SWISCo to ensure they complement their surroundings. This decision is based on:
Please note: benches are designed for public use and are not standard timber garden benches. The public may not install their own benches or plaques on council‑owned land.
Bench sponsorship is available for 5‑year or 25‑year periods. This includes full maintenance within the agreed timeframe.
Benches typically have a lifespan of around five years. For 25‑year sponsorships, the bench may be replaced five or six times depending on location and wear.
If a bench becomes subject to repeated vandalism, we may review alternative options or locations and will contact you if this is necessary.
We will contact plaque holders as their sponsorship period comes to an end. Renewal options will be available, and plaques can be returned once the agreement has expired.
Installation can take up to four months from receipt of payment. This allows time for manufacture, delivery and scheduling. We will keep you informed throughout and can accommodate attendance for a small ceremony where possible.
