Delivering reliable, high-quality grounds maintenance is important to us, whether it’s for public parks or private spaces. We currently look after more than 1.4 million square metres of grassland across parks, highways, and open spaces in the region.
We’re really proud of the green spaces in our care. This year, seven of our parks earned Green Flag status. This fantastic achievement was made possible by the hard work of our team and the amazing support from local volunteers.
We carry out scheduled maintenance for areas that are in constant use, such as sports pitches, playing fields and parks. We also cut grass that may cause a hazard by limiting visibility on highways.
We have tailored our cutting regime in many areas, including highway verges and parks, leaving some grass longer to promote biodiversity.
We use large tractor mowers for wide, open areas. Smaller tools are then used to tidy up corners and narrow spaces. For added safety and efficiency, we’ve also introduced robotic mowers on busy roadsides. These help reduce risks for our team when working near traffic.
