School Crossing Patrols

School Crossing Patrols (often known as “lollipop” men and ladies) are employed by SWISCo to help children and other pedestrians cross the road safely on their journey to and from school.

They operate at key crossing points near schools, helping people cross safely at the busiest times of the day and encouraging good road safety habits. Their presence helps reduce the risk of accidents, ease congestion, and support walking and cycling to school.

Our School Crossing Patrols are a valued part of the community, working with schools, parents, and road users to help keep everyone safe.

Request a School Crossing Patrol

School Crossing Patrols are not a statutory service. If you think a location would benefit from a patrol, please provide the road name and where most pupils cross. Sites will be assessed subject to funding being agreed by the school. This service operates on a full cost recovery basis.
