Employment Contract: Full Time - Permanent

Salary: £48,474 to £51,515

Number of hours: 37

Keeping our workforce safe, and healthy is the absolute priority for SWISCo and you will lead and guide the way we do this. As both the competent, and at times, responsible person, you will put all the required management measures in place, to ensure, that SWISCo is at the leading edge of implementing compliance and legislative requirements and that occupational health and safety is at the very core of everything we do and the way we work.

You will be a key component in the Senior Management team at SWISCo ensuring that strategic thinking is focused on occupational health and safety, guiding our tactical approach to building it into everything we do in a pragmatic, proportionate, and reasonable way and at an operational level is delivered in effective, understandable, and suitable ways, using mediums that support and enhance the delivery.

You will build a network with the operational managers, so you understand the unique challenges they and their teams face. This will allow you to work with them to collectively deliver occupational health and safety messaging in a way that the workforce understand and embrace through safety practices that improve and enhance working conditions.

You will also monitor the level of safety and technical competency throughout the organisation and ensure that SWISCo maintains, through effective training, coaching, and mentoring programmes, the essential skills, knowledge, and certification to operate its services.

As a leader within SWISCo you will be part of a Leadership Team which drives the culture and effectiveness of the business ensuring SWISCo operates safely, innovatively, profitably and delivers against the targets set for it by Torbay Council and its communities and residents and most importantly is considered a good place to work.

The role will be an agile working contract and at least 3 days per week you will be expected to work from Aspen Way Office. From time to time you will be expected to work elsewhere within Torbay or carry out different tasks to what you normally do.
