Employment Contract: Full Time - Permanent

Salary: £22,369 to £26,845

Number of hours: 37

There is an exciting opportunity within SWISCo’s Highways Operations Team, where we are looking for four new Operative Level 3’s to join us.

SWISCo delivers services on behalf of Torbay Council and are responsible for the delivery of statutory functions of which Highways, is one. SWISCo also undertakes work for other public and private organisations to provide added value to the community and to improve the cost effectiveness of universal and statutory services provided to all residents on behalf of Torbay Council.

As part of our Highways function, we are looking for four, new Level 3 Operatives to support in a range of functions including:

  • Laying bituminous materials.
  • Working with concrete and stone.
  • Installing drainage.
  • Installing road markings.
  • Installing street furniture.
  • The need to undertake work in dealing with emergency situations on the Highway network.
  • Assisting the Sign Shop where necessary.

The key requirements of the role that you will need to have include:

  • Current and clean full UK Driving Licence
  • Exceptional personal effectiveness skills and time management
  • Able to work on own initiative proactively and with the minimum of direction.
  • Safe and effective manual handling ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective team player
