SWISCo manages and operates several statutory services on behalf of Torbay Council. These include, Parks, Street Scene and Green Infrastructure, Waste Management, Highways, Fleet and Transport and all other related support services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operative Level 3’s to join our highly successful Street Cleansing Team.
This is an essential role supporting the daily activities within Street Scene, undertaking a range of tasks to ensure that the parks, pavements, and beaches across Torbay are clean, well maintained, attractive, and safe.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Being responsible for operating vehicles and plant, including mechanical sweepers, RCV and light vehicles.
- Undertaking sweeping, the collection and removal of litter, dirt, and weeds from public places including Adopted Highway’s and Parks and Gardens throughout Torbay.
- The application of chemicals when required.
The successful candidate will have a methodical approach and an ability to prioritise workload. A good understanding of basic IT skills is required due to the use of in-cab technology.
Candidates must be qualified to drive vehicles up to and including 7.5T.
A CPC qualification is desirable but not essential.
A qualification or experience in the safe use of pesticides is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given.
